How the editorial process works

  1. You submit. Complete the form with your idea, your background and, if you wish, up to three original photographs.
  2. We review. The editorial team checks the submission against our editorial standards, looking at originality, accuracy, educational value and whether the topic sits within your area of competence.
  3. We contact you. If we would like to take the contribution further, a member of the team will email you. We may suggest changes, request sources, or ask for qualifications, professional experience, references or other supporting evidence. This applies particularly to scientific and medical content.
  4. We publish. Accepted contributions are edited for grammar, clarity, formatting and house style, and published under your name with any relevant disclosures. Substantial technical changes are agreed with you before publication.
